V1 Energy Ltd, trading as V1 Energy Solutions, provides energy efficiency technology for commercial heating and cooling systems. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 17275735.
Our registered office is Ground Floor, Woodland House, Woodland Park, Bradford Road, Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire, BD19 6BW.

The information we collect
When you use the enquiry form, we collect the name, organisation, email address, phone number, building type and message you provide. The form is processed by Netlify Forms on our behalf. If you email or call us, we hold the correspondence and contact details you share.
The live V1 website at v1-energy.com is hosted by Netlify. We use Netlify Web Analytics to understand aggregate website use, including page views, IP-based visitor counts, referring websites and approximate countries. It processes web requests on the server and does not add analytics cookies or a tracking script to your browser. Netlify makes up to 30 days of reporting available. We use the reports to improve our website under our legitimate interests; they are not a record of identifiable prospective customers. Hosting providers also process technical request information needed to deliver and secure the website. Read our cookie policy for more about website storage.
Your client portal account
If V1 invites you to the client portal, we process your email address, account identifier and access permissions to provide and secure your account. Netlify Identity handles sign-in and password recovery. We do not include passwords in meter records or enquiry notes.
The portal stores the buildings and meters assigned to your organisation, baseline records, consumption periods, opening and closing readings where provided, source notes and review notes. It also records who made changes and when. Only users assigned to your organisation and authorised V1 administrators can access your organisation’s records.
We use this information to manage the pilot or project and keep an evidence trail. Our lawful basis is performance of a contract where you are the contracting party, or our legitimate interests in providing and securing the service for your organisation. Website enquiries can also appear in V1’s private administration area so we can follow them up.
The portal uses Netlify Identity, Netlify Functions and Netlify Database. Customer records are held on the server; the portal does not save a copy of your meter records in browser local storage. Necessary sign-in cookies maintain your session. Read our cookie policy.
Account and project records follow the retention approach below. You or your organisation can contact Harry about access changes, a copy of your records or deletion requests. Signing out ends your session; it does not delete the project’s records.
Anonymous website statistics
We measure aggregate use of the public website to improve its content and enquiry journey: page views, estimated engaged time, scroll depth, broad traffic sources, device and browser categories, approximate countries and cities, and clicks on survey, contact and report links. The client portal is excluded. We do not record form contents, visitor identities, IP addresses, precise coordinates or individual browsing histories in these statistics.
Our own measurement uses daily aggregate counters stored by Netlify Database and processed by Netlify Functions. The counters are kept for up to 13 months. We show city totals only after at least five measured page views in the selected reporting period. Engaged time is an estimate while the page is visible and active, pauses after 60 seconds without activity, and is capped at 30 minutes per page load.
We use the statistics only to improve this website, under our legitimate interests. Our browser measurement respects Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. You can stop it below without charge. The preference is stored on this browser under v1-statistics-disabled, without a visitor identifier, until you remove it or clear website data. This preference does not change Netlify’s separate server-side request analytics or necessary security processing.
How we use your information
We use your details to respond to your enquiry, prepare quotes and surveys, and manage any project that follows. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests in responding to a business enquiry you initiated, or performance of a contract where a project proceeds.
Where we contact people at organisations we believe could benefit from our services, we do so under legitimate interests in line with UK GDPR and PECR rules for corporate subscribers. We honour opt-out requests and maintain a do-not-contact record so you are not contacted again.
Who we share it with
We use service providers to help run the business, including website hosting providers, Netlify Forms and our email provider, under appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal data or share it with third parties for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
We keep information no longer than necessary. Enquiries that do not lead to a project are typically deleted within 24 months. Records connected to a customer project are kept for the life of the relationship and any legal retention period that applies.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you can ask for access to your data, correction, erasure, restriction of processing and portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. These rights depend on the circumstances and the legal basis for processing.
