The data we collect
When you use the contact form we collect your name, organisation, email address, phone number (if you give it) and your message. The form is processed by Netlify Forms on our behalf as part of our website hosting. If you email or call us, we hold the correspondence and contact details you share.
This website sets no cookies and runs no third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
How we use it
We use your details to respond to your enquiry, prepare quotes and surveys, and manage any project that follows. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (responding to a business enquiry you initiated) or the performance of a contract where a project proceeds.
Where we contact people at organisations we believe could benefit from our services, we do so under legitimate interests in line with UK GDPR and PECR rules for corporate subscribers. We honour opt-out requests immediately and maintain a do-not-contact record so you are not contacted again.
Who we share it with
Service providers who help us run the business, such as our website host (Netlify) and email provider, under appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
No longer than necessary. Enquiries that do not lead to a project are typically deleted within 24 months. Records connected to a customer project are kept for the life of the relationship and any legal retention period that applies.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for access to your data, correction, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email harry@v1-energy.com and we will respond within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
