Devon Chamber of Commerce: 20% at the Chamber's own offices
The Devon Chamber of Commerce runs from a single-storey, late 20th-century office unit in Plymouth, heated by one 60kW boiler. As part of its drive towards net zero, the Chamber put the V1 system to the test on its own building.
The challenge
Before installation the Chamber's offices used 30,952 kWh of gas a year, emitting 5.6 tonnes of carbon at a cost of £2,600. For an organisation with net zero ambitions, that was a direct emission worth tackling, without expensive new equipment.
The result
Between April 2024 and June 2025 the offices measured a 20% reduction in kWh per degree day: consumption fell from 30,952 kWh to 25,165 kWh and the gas bill from £2,600 to £2,079.96, with 1.175 tonnes of carbon removed from the Chamber's footprint.
“With our strategic priorities being People, Purpose and Planet, we were excited when OH4 Heating joined the Chamber of Commerce and showed us Steve’s energy and cost savings solution. Perfect in its simplicity, effectiveness and accessibility to all, both in a business and residential setting. Steve has been great to work with, giving regular updates on outcomes and is quick to respond. We have been delighted with the savings to date. Not only does a reduction in costs mean we can invest that money back in our members, but it is also helping to reduce our energy usage and footprint on the planet.”
How this was measured: gas consumption compared against the pre-install year from the building's own meter, adjusted for degree days (1,787.2 against 2,176.1), so a colder year could not hide the effect.
The V1 system is the OH4 Energy Saving System, so client quotes and the full case-study documents refer to it as OH4.
